FINAL EXPENSES |
The motivation to buy final expense insurance is usually a concern for someone who would otherwise have to pay for funeral expenses. This need not be a large policy but it should be Whole Life. Take into account what your final wishes will cost, considering inflation. The average funeral today is over $6000 and will increase to over $10,000. Your beneficiary should get the check, not the funeral home. They can use any extra money for travel expenses, etc.
A good policy should include a Memorial Guide Booklet where you can put your wishes in writing. If you're not to anxious to think about it, consider how much easier it will be for your loved ones when the time comes. Instead of trying to remember what you have said, or guessing what you would want, they can hand the booklet to the funeral director. The decisions are already made.
One big decision is burial vs. cremation. Most people have strong feelings about this issue. Cremation is much less expensive. We feel that you should be comfortable with this decision. By planning ahead you can usually have whatever you want. Use this special kind of Life Insurance.
