MEDICARE

SUPPLEMENTS

Medicare is a government program mostly for people over 65 years old. Part A is free, and pays most of your hospital bills, but not the first $952. The cost of Part B is taken out of your Social Security check, unless you stop it. Part B is the best buy ever, and almost everyone should take it. It pays for about 80% of most out-patient doctor bills and tests.

Medicare Supplements bridge the gap between what Medicare pays and what it doesn't pay. There are 10 types of Supplements, set by the government. They are offered by many insurance companies, sometimes at different prices for the same form.

There are several things to check in addition to price. The rating of the company is important. The program you choose should be suited to you. It has to meet your financial needs, both in terms of the premium cost now, and possible expenses you will incur in time of illness. Another factor is how much paperwork you have to do. Some companies are tied directly to the Medicare computer, eliminating most of the paperwork for you.

Supplements do not pay for Nursing Home Care or Final Expenses. To find out about Medicare and Social Security call Nancy, 928-777-8736 or Ron, 928-717-8256, or E-mail us at answers@weareinsurance.com .
